About The Position

Manage and perform basic administrative, hospitality, organizational, and other supporting duties. Assist students with daily issues ranging from finding the correct contacts for issues in their major to directing the correct procedures to add/drop classes. This position is the "face" of the College of Education and will be essential in presenting a positive first impression. Salary Grade : 09 Please see Staff Compensation Structure for salary ranges. Requirements

  • High School diploma
  • Two (2) years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
  • An equivalent combination of related education and related experience may be considered for this position.
  • Organizational and coordinating skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of records and information.
  • Ability to understand and follow specific instructions and procedures.
  • Receptionist skills.
  • Ability to maintain calendars and schedule appointments.
  • Ability to create, compose, and edit written materials.
  • Knowledge of supplies, equipment, and/or services ordering and inventory control.
  • Ability to operate basic office equipment.
  • Records maintenance skills.
  • Word processing and/or data entry skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.

Responsibilities

  • Answer phones, assist callers with basic information, or route calls throughout the college and university.
  • Greet faculty, staff, students, donors, and other constituents of the College of Education who require face-to-face interactions with the Dean, Associate Dean, or Dean’s support staff.
  • Maintain a clean, warm, and welcoming physical environment that may involve light cleaning, organizing, or minor office equipment maintenance.
  • Maintain office, safety, and cleaning supply inventory.
  • Perform a variety of clerical duties, which require basic to complex technical/typing assignments.
  • Assist with fleet management, including managing maintenance schedules and calendars for departmental "use."
  • Support other staff who perform a variety of operational duties that include, but are not limited to, business affairs, grants/contracts support, events planning, recruiting efforts, and academic record keeping.
  • May serve as a liaison between the Dean of Education and departments within the College of Education (or the university as a whole) to efficiently fulfill the university's mission.
  • Other duties as assigned based on unique talents and abilities, as well as departmental needs.
