About The Position

The Division of Developmental Disabilities is seeking to hire an Office Associate for the Murray Developmental Center located in Centralia, Illinois to perform complex and specialized clerical duties for an assigned work location. Performs complex and specialized clerical duties for an assigned work location. Keyboards complex charts, statistical reports, letters, memos, and evaluations including legal, medical and/or psychological terminology. Serves as a time scheduler for all direct care staff, including mental health technicians and licensed practical nurses, on all shifts. Prepares, maintains and distributes monthly work schedules. Prepares, duplicates, and distributes files, records and documents. Compiles paperwork, maintains, updates and retrieves hard copy files using establish procedures.

Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two (2) years of office experience.
  • Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at a net rate of forty-five (45) wpm.
  • Requires the ability to utilize commonly used manual and automated office equipment, including personal computers and perform routine maintenance.
  • Requires the ability to work after business hours, weekends and holidays.
  • Requires the ability to travel in the performance of job duties.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDHS background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen for drugs prohibited from recreational use under Illinois Law.

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex and specialized clerical duties for an assigned work location.
  • Serves as a time scheduler for all direct care staff, including mental health technicians and licensed practical nurses, on all shifts.
  • Prepares, maintains and distributes monthly work schedules.
  • Prepares, duplicates, and distributes files, records and documents.
  • Serves as receptionist.
  • Attends staffing meetings and provides input regarding scheduling situations and outcomes.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
