Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill, and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two years of office experience.
  • Requires the ability to keyboard accurately at 45 wpm.
  • Requires the ability to speak and write in Spanish at a colloquial skill level.

Nice To Haves

  • One (1) year of experience in office methods and procedures, such as data entry, record-keeping, document organization, filing, and general office workflow.
  • One (1) year of extensive skills in writing, composition, grammar, spelling and punctuation.
  • One (1) year of intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suites or similar software.

Responsibilities

  • Performs complex and specialized clerical functions for the Legal Division.
  • Reviews and processes DOL Administrative Law Judge decisions and orders.
  • Organizes and maintains hearing electronic and physical files for pending hearings and completed hearings creates new files as necessary.
  • Answers telephone, for English and Spanish-speaking clients, referring calls to appropriate staff.
  • Distributes incoming mail and delivers outgoing mail including preparing certified mail when required.
  • Maintains translation schedule for hearings that require translation services.
  • Performs special projects and other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
