About The Position

We are looking for a motivated individual to serve as Writ Coordinator at Joliet Treatment Center. This position will perform master file review of sentencing information, maintain master files, and perform calculations of sentences. In addition, this position keyboards complex charts and reports, and assists with grade demotions and restorations. Requirements

  • Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of high school and two (2) years of office experience.
  • Requires ability to keyboard 45 words per minute.
  • Requires ability to pass the IDOC/IDJJ background check.
  • Requires ability to pass a drug screen. The use of unauthorized drugs by an employee, regardless of position held, is prohibited.
  • Required to utilize digital technology, tools, platforms, and processes in managing and supporting various digital enhancements for greater efficiency, productivity, and digital transformation efforts within the department.
  • Applicants are required to abide by all vaccine and/or other medical standards as set out by the employer.

Responsibilities

  • Serves as Writ Coordinator, processing all writs and furloughs.
  • Performs individual in custody master file review for accuracy and completeness of sentencing information.
  • Maintains individuals in custody master files, ensuring filling is accurate and timely.
  • Performs accurate calculations of individual in custody sentences, including sentence calculations for jail credit, restoration and revocation, bond probation, parole violators and Supplemental Sentence Credit (SSC).
  • Keyboards complex charts, statistical reports, documents forms, memos, filling and recording of records including legal, medical and psychological terminology where an understanding of specialized terms is required to ensure clarity and accuracy.
  • Assists with the calculation and processing of grade demotions and restorations in accordance with Adjustment Committee mandates and Departmental Rule 504.
  • Performs other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.
