About The Position

The Office Associate II is responsible for a wide variety of administrative duties. The position will assist and relieve the Chair, Administrator and Supervisor in routine and non-routine responsibilities of the daily operations and administrative aspects for the department. This position, assists the Chair, Administrator and Supervisor with daily operation and administrative aspects of the department and provides a high level administrative support. The position must be thoroughly familiar with institutional and administrative policies and know where and how to elicit such information. The Office Associate II also acts in a liaison capacity between the Chair and various faculty, departments, industry partners and the NU Foundation in terms of transmitting administrative information, decisions and directives and requires a high level of independent judgment, independent thinking, and decision-making in situations of Chair’s absence. This is a confidential position as the assistant interfaces with donors, high level national and global leaders, donors, faculty, staff, residents and students, and also may be the first line contact for industry representatives and University donors. The incumbent will execute a variety of complex/high level administrative and clerical assignments. Under limited supervision, must independently perform reception tasks, office supply purchasing, and key tracking of operations, and customer service to inquiries. This position requires resourcefulness, confidentiality, good judgment, and excellent oral and written communication skills. The successful incumbent will be a self-starter, team player, proficient using a variety of computer software programs, organized and detail-oriented, possess the ability to set priorities, able to multi task, and work in a fast-paced environment.
