About The Position

The Employment Development Department (EDD), Document Management Division is searching for a motivated, skilled, and challenge-seeking individual who enjoys innovation, problem solving, and is interested in working with an exciting team of professionals in a fast-paced environment. Under the close supervision of the Office Services Supervisor II (General), the Office Assistant (General) performs a variety of mail receiving and processing duties in the Document Management Group (DMG). The mail processing activities are for both remittance and non-remittance mail. The incumbent must be aware of the processing deadlines and will move from one function to another within the DMG in order to expedite the mail receiving, opening and preparation activities, and may assist in other job functions, such as deposit preparation activities. Due to the arrival time of the mail and strict processing time frames the incumbent may be required to work early hours. Because of fluctuating workload levels and strict processing time frames, the incumbent may be required to work overtime or a fluctuating work schedule. The incumbent must also have strong organizational and communication abilities (written and verbal) to support the EDD's mission, vision, values, and business priorities. This position is conveniently located near Rancho Cordova while offering free parking and a variety of nearby restaurants. Note: The position may have shifts that range between the hours of 4:30am to 4:30pm. Additionally, this position is not eligible for hybrid telework.
