Harris Beach Murtha is in search of an Office Administrative Assistant to join our Hartford, CT office. You will thrive in this role if you have: 1-3 years of Administrative/Office experience Team player attitude with ability to be proactive and focus on problem solving A sense of accountability for working independently and proactively Exceptional oral and written communication, including excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, form, and style Excellent multitasking and time management abilitiesProficiency with MS Office, scanning, and profiling of legal documents Superior client service and listening skills for anticipating needs of clients and attorneys The Office Administrative Assistant is responsible for hospitality and event planning, administrative assistance and coverage, workflow overflow, document preparation, scanning/profile, word processing, and more in a fast-paced law firm environment. Do you have the DRIVE and DESIRE to: Serve as the first point of contact for clients and maintain a professional reception area Manage phone calls, messages, and incoming/outgoing mail (including FedEx, UPS, certified mail) Coordinate parking operations in the Connecticut and Massachusetts offices. Coordinate hospitality and logistics for internal and client-facing meetings and events Maintain office and kitchen supplies; ensure copy centers and conference rooms are organized Support Trusts & Estates and Immigration legal team with overflow tasks such as scanning, word processing, document production, time entry, expense reports, and database management Assist with onboarding logistics (building badges, parking registration) and facility coordination Create and edit Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations. Perform physical and electronic filing using case management systems Provide remote assistance to other offices and departments as needed Support IT with local computer and network connections Participate in special projects and office events throughout the year Harris Beach Murtha recognizes everyone has a right to be included. The anticipated weekly schedule for the Office Administrative Assistant in Hartford is 35 hours per week.
