About The Position

The Offensive Assistant Football Coach assists the Head Football Coach in directing all activities of the football program, including coaching an offensive position group, within NCAA, GAC, SWOSU, and SWOSU policies, guidelines, and procedures. The Offensive Assistant Football Coach is responsible for maintaining high academic standards to support the academic development and graduation of student-athletes while focused on student-athlete welfare.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Ability to multi-task, organize, manage time effectively, and keep tasks appropriately prioritized
  • Remains knowledgeable of applicable regulations, policies, and protocols
  • Proficiency in efficiently and promptly organizing and handling tasks
  • Ability to be involved with the community, donors, and maintain positive public relations
  • Ability to work with, assist, lead, and take directions from others in the interest of operating SWOSU Football to its optimal efficiency
  • Expectation of on-campus presence with attendance and punctuality
  • Available to assist with situations during or after working hours whether in-person, by phone, or email contact
  • Promote personal safety, safety procedures, and a safe work environment
  • Full-time status
  • 12-month appointment
  • Exempt

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree is preferred
  • Collegiate playing experience, three (3) years of college coaching, and experience recruiting in the state of Oklahoma is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assisting in successfully directing the football program to compete for GAC and NCAA II championships
  • Assisting in the recruitment of student-athletes and maintaining a culture of personal accountability in student-athlete academic performance and conduct
  • Assisting in the planning and direction of all practices, travel, and game activities
  • Assisting, as delegated by the Head Football Coach, in preparing and managing the administrative functions of the football program
  • Assisting in community engagement and donor relations by promoting the football program within the priorities of the Department of Intercollegiate Athletics
  • Successfully recruit, retain, develop, and graduate high-performing football student-athletes
  • Assist with the preparation, organization, design, and implementation of effective practice plans, off-season programs, scouting reports and recruiting systems
  • Effective and timely preparation and management of administrative functions related to the football program
  • Effective community engagement, donor, and public relations
  • Consistent compliance with NCAA II, GAC, and SWOSU policies, rules, and regulations
  • Provides support services to the program in a manner that professionally, cordially, and efficiently assists students, faculty, staff, and visitors
  • Other duties as assigned
