About The Position

Nebraska Wesleyan University (NWU) is seeking candidates for Assistant Coaches who are ready to coach football where there is a dedicated fan base, strong university leadership committed to athletic success, and excellent facilities in a football-rich city and state. These are 12-month full-time, year-round benefit eligible positions. Successful candidates will instill a culture of integrity, passion, and dedication on and off the field. You will also have the chance to develop and implement with the Head Coach a winning game plan that elevates our student-athletes. Selected candidates will report to the Head Football Coach and the Athletic Director. Coaches will be asked to perform a secondary job duty at the discretion of the university and within the skill set of qualified applicants. Requirements

Bachelor's degree required, Master's preferred.
Three to five years of collegiate coaching experience.
Demonstrated computer skills and ability to work with Hudl, PowerPoint, and Front Rush.
Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with students, faculty, and the general public.
Demonstrated interpersonal skills and success in working with a variety of persons that will build strong, long-term relationships with student-athletes, students and stakeholders.
Demonstrated critical thinking, time management, and ability to troubleshoot complex issues.
Ability to work with minimum supervision and handle high pressure situations.
Ability to frequently travel and work 40 – 50-hour work weeks, often beyond normal office hours.
Prior to employment, applicants will have to successfully complete a criminal background and motor vehicle driving check.

Responsibilities

Plan, organize and oversee recruiting efforts with prospective student-athletes: attend recruiting events, recruit evaluation, emails/mailings/phone calls, and on-campus visits.
Lead daily practice sessions while developing skills for student athletes.
Conduct film breakdown sessions for strategizing with coaching staff.
Coordinate with the strength and conditioning staff to develop appropriate athlete conditioning curriculum.
Build and provide individualized development plans for student-athletes which foster growth athletically, academically, and socially.
Assist in the development and delivery of the NWU Football leadership values and ensure that short- and long-term objectives are in line with university and program goals.
Other duties as assigned by the Head Coach.
