The intern will be responsible for assisting the Offender Services team which includes the areas of Risk Reduction, Interstate Compact and transfers. The Applicant may assist in facilitating Interstate Compact Meetings, assisting in the duties and setting up details for inmate transports, learning to analyze and process interstate compact applications, learning how to use a nationally based transportation system to transport inmates and how to use organizational skills to make sure the inmate gets appropriately classified once to their destination. The applicant will also have the opportunity to learn how to balance and move inmates from a bird's eye view of the entire state system and manage an entire state population, giving the intern the unique opportunity to gain skills in managing large scale operations and populations.
