About The Position

The mission of the Southeast State Correctional Complex (SSCC) is to provide humane program and service opportunities for offenders that will enhance their community re-integration and economic self- sufficiency; and that will be administered in a just and equitable manner within the least restrictive environment consistent with public, staff, and inmate safety. SSCC is seeking candidates for an Offender Information Supervisor. This position performs sentencing calculations to determine parole eligibility and release of inmates as well as maintains offender inmates’ records within the facility. They also oversee staff in the Offender Information Department.

Requirements

  • EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.
  • EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Two years of experience in management, administration, legal, paralegal, or offender records.
  • Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: NONE
  • Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Administrative, management, legal, paralegal, law enforcement, or offender records experience will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis. Current or prior military experience will substitute for the required college on a year-for-year basis.
  • SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS (AGE, LICENSURE, REGULATION, ETC.): NONE

Responsibilities

  • Maintain electronic information and manual filing systems for all female inmates files; admissions, active inmate, paroled, shock probation, and serve-outs.
  • Respond to request for information according to open records statutes.
  • Review, implement, and process court order trips; calculate and compute inmate sentences; coordinate placement and removal of detainers.
  • Implement all functions associated with receiving and discharging inmates to and from the Department of Corrections.
  • Communicate with courts, county and state agencies, public, inmates, and institutional staff regarding inmates’ official record.
  • Interpret, adhere to, and enforce all rules, regulations, policies, and procedures relating to inmate records.
  • Train and evaluate staff members in the Offender Information Department.
