About The Position

Abilene Christian University is affiliated with the fellowship of the Church of Christ. All applicants must be professing Christians and willing to support the Christian mission and purpose of Abilene Christian University while employed by the university. ‌ Basic Responsibilities Work as directed by the assistant director for MEP. Work on all off-campus properties MEP systems. Perform tasks assigned as part of remodeling and construction work. Plan, coordinate, develop preventative maintenance programs for MEP systems Assist other trades on and off campus as needed in the spirit of teamwork and cooperation. Cross train to enhance skills. Follow established rules, policies and procedures of Facilities Management and the University. Order materials and supplies as needed for completion of work assigned. Maintain budget within approved limits. Fill out work orders and written reports daily. B. Display initiative to work alone or in groups. Be on call 24 hours a day. Coordination of special projects with outside MEP contractors. Respond quickly to emergencies. C. Coordinate the installation of MEP systems according to National, State and Local codes. Develop estimate of costs for MEP services as required by remodeling/special projects. Formulate specifications to be used in preparation of bids for acquiring services, contracts, and items purchased. D. Perform preventative maintenance on MEP systems. Repair/replace parts as needed on MEP systems. Maintain adequate parts inventory and evaluate available MEP products and hardware, standardize where applicable to achieve economy. E.
