About The Position

This Occupational Therapy Assistant role provides rehabilitative care to patients with cognitive and physical impairments in a long-term care or skilled nursing setting. Working under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist, the COTA implements individualized treatment plans focused on improving functional independence and quality of life. Interventions include ADL retraining, therapeutic activities, exercises, modalities, and assistive device training. The position requires collaboration with interdisciplinary teams, participation in care conferences, and consistent documentation of patient progress within the electronic medical record.

Requirements

  • Candidates must hold an active OTA license in the practicing state
  • At least one year of experience in a long-term care or skilled nursing environment. New graduates may be considered if they have completed Level II clinical fieldwork experience.
  • Knowledge of evidence-based rehabilitation practices, regulatory standards, and professional practice guidelines is required.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work under Occupational Therapist supervision are essential.
