Canyon Vista Medical Center is located in the beautiful high desert of southeastern Arizona, committed to serve residents in Sierra Vista, Ft. Huachuca, Cochise County – a population of more than 131,000 people, and our surrounding communities. We’re comfortably nestled in the San Pedro River Valley, 75 miles southeast of Tucson. Canyon Vista Medical Center was founded in 1963 as Western Baptist Osteopathic Hospital on what was then the eastern edge of Sierra Vista. Growth and advancing technology dictated building our new 177,000 square foot hospital at 5700 E Hwy 90 completed in 2015. The COTA plays a vital role within our rehabilitation team by evaluating and treating patients with physical, cognitive, or developmental impairments to enhance functional independence and overall quality of life. This position develops individualized treatment plans, delivers evidence‑based interventions, collaborates closely with physicians, therapists, and nursing staff, and provides patient and family education to support safe and successful transitions across care settings. The COTA also assists with patient scheduling, posts charges daily to patient records, and documents all care in accordance with regulatory, licensing, payer, and accrediting requirements. This role maintains accurate, timely documentation, upholds professional standards, and contributes to a positive, patient‑centered environment focused on achieving meaningful outcomes.

Requirements

  • A graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program culminating in an associate’s degree.
  • Certification from the American Occupational Therapy Association (COTA).
  • Current and valid state OTA license or certificate of practice or equivalent in the state where services are rendered.
  • Basic Life Support certification
