About The Position

Spear Physical and Occupational Therapy is excited to welcome motivated occupational (OT) and physical therapists (PT) who are passionate about pursuing a career in hand and upper extremity rehabilitation. This role is ideal for therapists who have developed a solid foundation in hand therapy during their clinical education and are eager to build on that experience with mentorship, advanced training, and hands-on practice. Therapists are responsible for setting clear expectations for your patientsâ clinical progress while providing evidence-based, patient-centered care for individuals with conditions of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. Therapists are expected to execute a high standard of clinical excellence while maintaining 5-star customer service, because a passion for your craft is turned into real impacts when you deliver on your promises. Requirements

Hold a license (or be license eligible) to practice Occupational or Physical Therapy in the State of New York
Completed a Level II fieldwork placement or outpatient rotation in hand therapy OR equivalent experience during clinical education
If transitioning from another practice area, demonstrate a commitment to hand therapy through continuing education coursework or certifications in upper extremity rehabilitation
Are excited about working toward becoming a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) with the support of a collaborative team
Masters or Doctorate of Occupational Therapy degree
License to practice Occupational Therapy in the State of New York

Responsibilities

Develop and progress individualized treatment plans including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, custom orthotic fabrication, and patient education
Empower patients with home programs and strategies that support their functional goals and recovery
Collaborate closely with referring physicians, surgeons, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure exceptional outcomes
