This role is ideal for therapists who have developed a solid foundation in hand therapy during their clinical education and are eager to build on that experience with mentorship, advanced training, and hands-on practice. Therapists are responsible for setting clear expectations for your patients’ clinical progress while providing evidence-based, patient-centered care for individuals with conditions of the hand, wrist, elbow, and shoulder. Requirements

• Hold a license (or be license eligible) to practice Occupational or Physical Therapy in the State of New York
• Completed a Level II fieldwork placement or outpatient rotation in hand therapy OR equivalent experience during clinical education
• If transitioning from another practice area, demonstrate a commitment to hand therapy through continuing education coursework or certifications in upper extremity rehabilitation
• Are excited about working toward becoming a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) with the support of a collaborative team
• Masters or Doctorate of Occupational Therapy degree
• License to practice Occupational Therapy in the State of New York
• Consistent with published industry PDC norms: Requires manual dexterity and general strength and endurance Lifting: routinely loads of 5-35 lbs. from: Floor to waist/Waist to shoulder/Shoulder to overhead Carrying: routinely loads of 5-10lbs for 40-50’ Pushing: routinely loads of 5-150lbs on casters, runners or pulleys Sustaining a grip: routinely for 1-2 minutes of 40-50lbs Guarding a “lift load” routinely of 120-140lbs

Responsibilities

• Develop and progress individualized treatment plans including manual therapy, therapeutic exercise, custom orthotic fabrication, and patient education
• Empower patients with home programs and strategies that support their functional goals and recovery
• Collaborate closely with referring physicians, surgeons, and interdisciplinary team members to ensure exceptional outcomes
