About The Position

Job Summary: Organizes and conducts an Occupational Therapy program upon referral from a physician to facilitate rehabilitation of the physically handicapped or injured person with a focus on Upper Extremity/Hand. Educates patients, families, students and the community in the Occupational Therapy practice. Participates as a team member in the day to day operations of the department. Job Description: Essential Responsibilities: Evaluates patients, establishes goals and implements treatment program per department's procedures and standards of care in a supportive and caring environment. Appropriately assesses and manages pain in accordance with the established guidelines. Demonstrates the knowledge/skill necessary to provide care appropriate ranging in age from infant to elder Instructs patients and families in Occupational therapy procedures as part of a patient's on going program as needed. Adequately plans for patient's discharge involving other pertinent team members, when appropriate.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy required.
  • License Occupational Therapist License required.
  • 0-1 years related work experience required in Occupational Therapy, with specialization in Hand Therapy for at least one year.
  • Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.
