About The Position

We are seeking a PRN Occupational therapist to join our growing multi-disciplinary team in the Day Neuro setting. The position is PRN Monday-Friday during clinic hours 830-4 at Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation Fort Worth. The candidate will collaborate with the multi-disciplinary team to treat patients with neurological injuries that include stroke, brain injury, SCI, and other neurological injuries. We are seeking a candidate with strong neurological rehab skills who works well in a team setting and can provide consistent availability and coverage. We are open to new graduates with inpatient and/or neuro rehab clinical experience.

Requirements

  • Current state licensure or eligibility for state licensure as a Occupational Therapist required.
  • Certified BLS or completion in the first 90 days of employment required.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluates assigned patients and establishes appropriate treatment goals and treatment programs.
  • Provides ongoing evaluation of the patient’s status and goals, modifying the treatment program to ensure timely progression.
  • Develops comprehensive goals for patient treatment to maximize outcomes and support return to community activities.
  • Coordinates the treatment program with other clinical/therapeutic services and available community resources; attends appropriate clinical meetings to support coordination.
  • Provides patient education, including developing comprehensive and progressive home programs with instruction for the patient, family, and caregivers to ensure a safe and effective discharge.
  • Prepares for patient discharge, including ordering necessary equipment and recommending therapeutic services to support continuity of care.
  • Evaluates patients in actual or simulated home, school, work, or community environments as needed, making recommendations for adaptations or training that support returning to community activities.
  • Identifies and manages various levels of care required to ensure effective delivery of the care plan; delegates and supervises COTAs and support personnel to maximize patient outcomes and service utilization.
