About The Position

Easterseals Florida is seeking a compassionate and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our school-based therapy team in Volusia County Schools. This role provides quality assessments, treatments, training, and progress monitoring while maintaining established standards for documentation and daily processes as determined by DOE, contract/site, and Easterseals policies. Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Occupational Therapy (minimum requirement)
  • Successful completion of the national exam
  • Current State of Florida Occupational Therapist License
  • Eligible to obtain or currently possess an NPI number
  • Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic school environment
  • Integrity, tact, and sound judgment
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to meet approved driver qualifications to use personal vehicle for program-related business

Responsibilities

  • Complete initial evaluation reports and CERT forms
  • Develop, implement, and schedule individualized treatment plans
  • Attend and actively participate in IEP meetings, SSTs, 504 Plans, and student problem-solving meetings
  • Document student progress in EMR or other approved systems, meeting DOE and contract/site standards
  • Prepare evaluations, re-evaluations, quarterly progress reports, equipment justifications, and Easterseals documentation
  • Supervise and mentor assistant-level therapists (COTAs), approving treatment notes
  • Provide supervision for volunteers and interns as needed
  • Participate in annual peer reviews of school therapy team members
