About The Position

The Occupational Therapist (OT) at the Wediko School provides direct occupational therapy services to youth across both the school and residential programs, supporting students’ participation, regulation, skill development, and overall functioning within therapeutic, educational, and residential settings. Working collaboratively with school, residential, and clinical teams, the OT delivers individual and group interventions, conducts and interprets occupational therapy assessments, and develops, writes, and monitors IEP goals in accordance with educational and clinical standards. The OT provides consultation and coaching to staff to support carryover of therapeutic strategies throughout the day and across environments. This position maintains a schedule that overlaps the school and residential programs (generally 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m., with flexibility as needed) to ensure continuity of care and integrated support for students. How You'll Be Making a Difference Administers tests and applies evaluation techniques to determine functional status and identify therapy needs. Analyzes evaluation results and designs a therapy program to meet needs of youth, incorporating factors of their developmental and medical history, social environment and educational placement. Develops individual treatment plans, adapting and adjusting goals and objectives appropriately. Provides individual and small group treatment both within and outside the residential settings. Provides on-going consultation to group home clients, families, and program staff as needed. Demonstrates effective oral and written communication skills necessary for team meetings, treatment conferences educational meetings, and family meetings as indicated. Works as part of a multi-disciplinary team; participating in meetings and conferences. Interfaces with parents, guardians, collateral agencies, to coordinate youth treatment needs. Uses time effectively, maintains treatment notes and completes all documentation in a timely manner. Alters schedule as needed to meet the residential needs of the campus. Functions independently within the scope of these duties consulting with the supervisor and campus leadership for administrative issues/departmental operations. Serves on agency-wide and/or program committees as appropriate. Provides in-service training regarding strategies to facilitate carry-over of skills learned in occupational therapy.

Requirements

• Requires a Masters degree from an accredited program in Occupational Therapy
• Occupational Therapist license in New Hampshire
• Computer literate including Microsoft Office and Internet Explorer with the ability to learn new software applications.
