About The Position

Anderson Hospital is seeking a PRN pediatric occupational therapist for our outpatient pediatric clinic. The occupational therapist is responsible for providing safe and effective delivery of patient care through assessment, planning,, implementation and evaluation of patient and family needs within the parameters of the Illinois Occupational Therapy Practice Act in order to deliver excellent patient care. Anderson Pediatric Therapy Services offers a comprehensive pediatric occupational therapy program that is designed to assist children with their overall growth and development. The goal of these services is to improve a child's ability to perform daily tasks. The team of occupational therapists works closely with children and their parents or caregivers to develop the skills and abilities required to complete these activities independently. They use a variety of techniques and tools to enhance a child's motor skills, coordination, and cognitive abilities: Upper extremity strengthening Fine motor and hand development Feeding Activities directed toward the child's age-appropriate developmental milestones Sensory integrative therapy Activities of daily living, including bathing and dressing Play therapy Behavior management skills Executive functioning skills This position will also provide support for inpatient needs for the adult/geriatric population as needed, but core population is pediatrics (birth-18 years). The occupational therapist will promote safe and effective care by coordinating care with the physician and any others involved in the patients care. The occupational therapist will provide care throughout the continuum and rotate through the various therapy sites as needed.

Requirements

  • Graduate of a occupational therapy curriculum approved by the American Occupational Therapy Association
  • Licensed in the State of Illinois
  • One year of experience in a health care setting is required to provide home health services.
  • Must be able to complete computer work.
  • Driving and reliable transportation is a necessity for Home Health Care and Early Intervention visits.
