Provides occupational therapy evaluations and treatments to patients to facilitate and maximize functioning level as prescribed by physician. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Therapy, Master’s preferred.
  • No prior experience required.
  • Licensed Occupational Therapist in the state of Iowa (if waiting to take the examination for the first time, may practice with a Temporary License under the supervision of an Iowalicensed OT for a period not to exceed 6 months from the date the application was received in the board office for licensure by examination).
  • Mandatory Reporter
  • BLS
  • FIM
  • Valid IA driver’s license and an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) (required for Outpt Therapy, Occupational Therapy, and Contract Therapy)

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Administers treatment techniques competently.
  • Conducts patient assessment.
  • Develops treatment plans for patients.
  • Communicates relevant patient information.
  • Provides education to patients and families.
  • Supervises and delegates duties to support personnel.
  • Supervises students and volunteers.
  • Based on principles of growth and development, provides care appropriate to the age related needs of the patients served on his/her assigned unit.
  • Adheres to all safety, infection control and colleague health policies and procedures.
