This is a full performance level position with the main purpose to provide supervision to occupational therapists and assistants in addition to occupational therapy assessment and treatment recommendations to referred patients within the hospital with major responsibility to Red Brick Cottages 1,2,3,4 and Noyes. Assessment/treatment areas include cognitive psychosocial functioning, sensory modulation, coping strategies, self-management and survival skills for independent living, task development and pre-vocational skills. Services offered include assessment, development and implementation of treatment plans and appropriate revision of treatment. This position works at the full performance level of occupational therapy as provided by a licensed O.T. professional and performs these licensed duties under the general supervision of the Director of Rehabilitation Services. This position does possess supervisory duties. This position is emergency essential and is required to have and maintain a valid Maryland Driver's License and be able to drive a state vehicle in accordance with the State of Maryland Policies and Procedures for drivers of State Vehicles.

Requirements

• Determined by the Maryland State Board of Occupational Therapy Practice under the licensing requirements for Occupational Therapists.
• Four years of experience as an Occupational Therapist.
• Candidates may substitute a Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in Occupational Therapy for two years of the required experience.
• Candidates may substitute U.S. Armed Forces military service experience as a commissioned officer in Therapy classifications or Therapy specialty codes in the Occupation Therapy field of work on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.
• Candidates for positions in this classification must possess a current license as an Occupational Therapist from the Maryland State Board of Occupational Therapy Practice, Spring Grove Hospital Center, 55 Wade Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21228.
• Employees in this classification may be required to successfully complete and maintain current certification of cardiopulmonary resuscitation training.
• Employees in this classification may be assigned duties which require the operation of a motor vehicle. Employees assigned such duties will be required to possess a motor vehicle operator’s license valid in the State of Maryland.
