About The Position

Experienced Part-Time Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) Position Summary National Therapy Center seeks a licensed, experienced Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) to join our Bethesda clinic team part-time . This role is designed for an independent clinician with 3-5+ years of pediatric experience, confident in managing a clinic-based caseload without supervision. You'll work with children and families during afternoon/evening hours (2:30 PM - 6:30 PM) , up to four days per week. This opportunity offers flexibility, autonomy, and a consistent schedule while making a lasting impact through family-centered care.

Requirements

  • Master's or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
  • Active Maryland OTR/L license in good standing.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of independent pediatric experience , preferably in private practice or outpatient settings.
  • Excellent clinical reasoning, documentation, and time management skills.
  • Able to work independently and manage a caseload without supervision.
  • Consistent availability during 2:30 PM - 6:30 PM , up to 4 days/week .
  • Maintain a minimum of 10 billable hours to a maximum of 24 clinic-based billable hours per week .

Responsibilities

  • Evaluation and Treatment Planning Conduct comprehensive occupational therapy evaluations using standardized and non-standardized assessments.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans tailored to pediatric developmental and functional needs.
  • Regularly update plans of care based on clinical progress and client goals.
  • Direct Service Delivery Provide in-person, clinic-based occupational therapy services to pediatric clients.
  • Use evidence-based approaches to address fine motor skills, sensory processing, handwriting, self-care, visual-motor integration, executive functioning, and play.
  • Adjust interventions based on ongoing client response and clinical observation.
  • Documentation and Reporting Complete and maintain accurate documentation, including daily session notes, progress reports, evaluations, and discharge summaries.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA, FERPA, payer requirements, and documentation timelines.
  • Utilize appropriate CPT codes and adhere to clinical documentation standards.
  • Family Communication and Education Communicate with families regarding client progress and recommendations.
  • Provide training and tools to promote carryover of therapy goals in the home setting.
  • Team Collaboration and Clinic Operations Coordinate with clinic staff for scheduling, materials, and administrative needs.
  • Communicate with other treating therapists to support collaborative care when needed.
  • Maintain a clean and organized treatment area and report any equipment concerns.
  • Professional Responsibility Uphold ethical standards in accordance with AOTA and Maryland licensure regulations.
  • Participate in team meetings and respond to clinical updates or check-ins as required.
