A Wage Occupational Therapist consistently provides effective direct care to a variety of complex patients. In doing so, they contribute independently to an interdisciplinary approach to patient care service delivery across the continuum of care. A therapist at this level possesses broad clinical knowledge and can provide care for various patient populations throughout the health system. They are able to complete administrative and clinical projects as assigned by supervisory staff but mainly focus on patient care. They help negotiate the health care system to maximize the delivery of quality care and to minimize cost of patient care service. These therapists also seek and provide feedback for improved clinical practice across the spectrum of care in the health system. In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned. Performs occupational therapy evaluations according to professional standards and departmental policy. Demonstrates knowledge of intervention options and executes a program of skilled occupational therapy intervention. Participates in professional growth activities. May actively participate in quality improvement and program development. In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.
