This occupational therapist (OT) position focuses on helping patients recover from injuries, illnesses, or surgeries and improve their physical, emotional, and functional well-being in the adult acute care setting. The role involves assessing, planning, and providing therapeutic interventions to enhance patients' abilities to perform daily activities and achieve their rehabilitation goals. This role is responsible for helping patients to develop, recover, or maintain skills needed for daily living and working, enabling patients to perform everyday activities that are important to their independence, health and well-being. Occupational therapists assess patient needs and develop individualized treatment plans. Individual contributors with responsibility in a clinical discipline or specialty. Typically involves diagnosing, treating, and caring for patients, and often include face-to-face interactions with patients. May also spend some time designing and implementing clinical programs, policies, and services using specialized knowledge and skills. Specialty license or certification required which is acquired through advanced education, training and/or experience. This career stream will be most commonly applied to patient care and/or scientific/laboratory technologist jobs. This versatile position could be entry-level, mid-career, or for highly experienced occupational therapist. For an entry-level therapist, the position typically requiring little to no prior knowledge or experience and require vocational or technical education.
