About The Position

Under the supervision and direction of the Campus Director of Special Education, the OT responsibilities include: ● Assessment and implementation of students' occupational therapy needs ● All record-keeping related to each student assigned to the therapist ● Supervision of COTA staff ● Engage in data-driven instruction ● Implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies

Requirements

  • Arizona IVP Fingerprint clearance card
  • Bachelor's, Master’s Degree or higher
  • Certified OTR in the state of Arizona
  • Ability to approach situations with optimism and perseverance
  • Excellent verbal, written, and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

  • Experience delivering services in a school setting in a classroom integration model is preferred
  • Minimum of two years OT experience in a school setting preferred
  • Experience and training in Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assess students to identify eligibility and IEP needs
  • Supervise, mentor, and support COTA; train COTAs and classroom staff to implement goals identified on student IEPs related to: fine motor skills life skills/training psychosocial adaptations sensory processing/adaptations visual motor skills
  • Follow school-wide systems, rules, and positive behavior interventions
  • Support the delivery of services in a classroom integration model
  • Communicate effectively and proactively with students and families
  • Responsible for paperwork compliance with data collections relating to IEP goals and Student Digital Portfolios
  • Maintain timely and accurate Medicaid Billing
  • Accountability for growth and proficiency in IEP goals
  • Participate in annual and ongoing staff training
  • Write OT goals and progress monitoring data for students' IEPs
  • Attend IEP/MET meetings for students with OT services
