About The Position

Summary: The Occupational Therapist is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, treatment and documentation of occupational therapy for patients.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or post Graduate degree (OT)
• Active and unrestricted Georgia OT License (Occupational Therapist)
• BLS Certification
• Minimum 1 year hospital experience, critical care/acute care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Reviews medical history, creates treatment plans and goals, shows patients how to use adaptive technology
• Assists patients with disabilities, injuries or illnesses to recover and cope through the use of common, everyday tasks, demonstrates exercises to relieve pain and increase mobility
• Knowledge of specific conditions, diseases, and treatment therapies for specific patient populations
• Assesses patients' physical, psychological, social, and educational needs to determine level and type of care
• Develops and maintains current patient treatment plan to include patient problems, goals, and interventions 
• Delivers care based on acuity level, identified needs, and physician orders
• Assesses, collaborates, and coordinates patient's discharge planning needs and readiness for discharge 
• Assesses patient/family learning needs, abilities and readiness to learn and integrates needs into plan of care
