About The Position

The Occupational therapy Assistant works directly with and under the supervision of the Occupational Therapist (OT) to treat patients who have difficulty performing daily living and work activities due to illnesses, injuries, and disabilities. The OT A helps clients perform exercises as specified in a treatment plan and teaches them to use equipment that may make some activities easier.

Requirements

  • Associates degree from an Occupational Therapy Assistant program that is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy.
  • Current license from the State of Oregon.
  • Current valid Oregon driver's license required.
  • Current CPR certification required.
  • Must have a current knowledge of occupational therapy as related to physical disability and rehabilitation procedures, general medicine, surgical and mental health concepts.
  • Understands the principles of team approach and recognizes capabilities and limitations of other team members.
  • Must possess a positive attitude and utilize good communication skills.
  • Effective team skills including interaction, support, and respect are required.
  • Ability to learn and apply computer skills including locating and opening documents, completing forms, writing rep011s, opening and sending e-mail messages.
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or National.
  • Subject to satisfactory adjudication of background investigation and/or fingerprint check.
  • Successful completion of 500-hour probationary period.
  • Criminal background check and pre-employment drug screen required upon conditional job offer.
