About The Position
Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) – PRN San Joaquin Nursing and Rehabilitation | Pay Range $40-$42 San Joaquin Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate and skilled Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our rehabilitation team on a PRN basis. General Purpose The COTA assists the Occupational Therapist in providing patient-related activities and direct care, supporting residents in achieving their highest level of independence and quality of life.
Requirements
- Current COTA license in the state of California.
- Proficient in therapy documentation systems (e.g., Casamba, PointClickCare).
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to interpret and follow care plans, policies, and procedures.
- Must meet state continuing education requirements and maintain licensure in good standing.
Responsibilities
- Provide treatments as directed by the Occupational Therapist.
- Follow physician treatment plans for each patient.
- Document daily treatment notes, weekly progress notes, and recertification per OT Board/state requirements.
- Communicate patient progress, concerns, and plans with the supervising OT and care team.
- Assist nursing staff in training Restorative Aides.
- Participate in facility in-service training programs.
- Provide caregiver and family education in preparation for discharge.
- Participate in discharge planning.
- Assist with maintaining a safe and clean treatment area.
- Report equipment issues to ensure proper function.
- Build and maintain positive relationships with residents, families, and staff.
