We are searching for an Occupational Safety/Environmental Health Intern to join our Safety Department at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State University. ARL's purpose is to research and develop innovative solutions to challenging scientific, engineering, and technology problems in support of the Navy, the Department of Defense (DoD), and the Intel Community (IC). You will: Provide support to ARL Environmental Health and Safety Programs Assist with implementation of ARL Safety's program management software Update Emergency Response Plans, conducting drills and responding to incidents Ensure chemical safety in ARL facilities through maintenance of Safety Data Sheet database and chemical inventories Maintain supply of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and First Aid Supplies and distribute Proactively promote safety programs through regular e-mail publicity, postings and focused meetings Respond to ARL employee questions/concerns about environmental health and safety issues Your working location will be fully on-site, located in State College, PA.
