About The Position

The Mehoopany Site Occupational Health Nurse will provide comprehensive occupational health services to employees at our Mehoopany facility. This role focuses on promoting and maintaining employee health and well-being, preventing work-related injuries and illnesses, and managing health-related programs in alignment with P&G's safety and health standards.

Requirements

  • Valid and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Pennsylvania.
  • Current Licensed Practical Nurse certification.
  • Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in occupational health, emergency room, or critical care nursing preferred.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.
  • Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN or COHN-S) highly desirable or willingness to obtain.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations, Workers' Compensation laws, and HIPAA requirements.
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in electronic medical record keeping and standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification in Occupational Health Nursing (COHN or COHN-S) highly desirable or willingness to obtain.
  • Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct nursing care, first aid, and emergency response for occupational injuries and illnesses, as well as non-occupational health issues within the scope of practice.
  • Conduct health assessments, screenings (e.g., audiometry, spirometry, vision), and medical surveillance programs as required by P&G policies and regulatory agencies (OSHA).
  • Administer and manage workers' compensation cases, including injury investigation, case management, and return-to-work programs, in collaboration with Human Resources and management.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee medical records in accordance with HIPAA and other applicable privacy regulations.
  • Participate in the development, implementation, and evaluation of health and wellness programs, including health education, disease prevention, and health promotion initiatives.
  • Collaborate with safety professionals, management, and employees to identify workplace hazards, conduct risk assessments, and recommend preventative measures to improve overall site safety.
  • Assist in the management of P&G's drug and alcohol testing program.
  • Provide travel health advice and immunizations for business travel as needed.
  • Serve as a health resource for employees, offering guidance on health-related inquiries and connecting them with appropriate internal or external resources.
  • Participate in emergency preparedness planning and response for the site.
  • Stay current with occupational health nursing practices, regulations, and P&G corporate health standards.
