About The Position

AMERICAN Cast Iron Pipe Company is committed to providing a safe and healthy work environment for our employees. We are seeking an Occupational Health Nurse (RN) to join our team and support the well-being of our workforce. In this role, you will assess work-related injuries, document and track cases, and coordinate employee injury and illness cases, including transitional duty and return-to-work status. You will also conduct drug and alcohol screenings, maintain accurate health records, and support annual testing programs such as audiology and mobile equipment eye exams. This position works closely with employees, the Safety Department, Human Resources, and departmental supervisors. Must be willing to work the second-shift Occupational Health Nurse hours of 1:30PM – 10:00PM.

Requirements

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and hold a current Registered Nurse (RN) license in the State of Alabama.
  • Must have three (3) or more years of experience in occupational health or clinical triage, including responsibility for return-to-work and absence management coordination.
  • Must be able to rotate shifts and work additional hours on weekdays, weekends, or holidays as required, and demonstrate flexibility in work assignments.
  • Must demonstrate working knowledge of occupational health testing resources, including audio metrics, spirometry, vision testing, and other surveillance testing.
  • Must demonstrate proficiency with word processing and spreadsheet software (e.g., Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Must be able to work independently with a high level of accountability and trust.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks, frequent interruptions, and deadlines in a dynamic environment, while maintaining strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Must demonstrate strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with individuals of diverse backgrounds and establish positive working relationships.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university.
  • Five (5) or more years of experience in occupational health, clinical triage, or clinical case management.
