About The Position

This is a role within the Castrol organisation and the successful candidate will become part of the Castrol ring-fence. If you are part of the ring-fence, it is expected that your employment will move with Castrol to new ownership. The Occupational Health & Industrial Hygiene Advisor (Americas) provides specialised occupational health nursing and industrial hygiene expertise to ensure workforce health protection, regulatory compliance, and effective implementation of interpersonal occupational health management systems. The role supports operational and office environments through delivery of medical surveillance, clinical case management, health risk assessments, and capability building, chipping in to safe, balanced, and productive workplaces.

Requirements

  • Experience delivering occupational health services in industrial or operational environments.
  • Experience in medical surveillance, clinical case management, and health risk management.
  • Strong understanding of occupational health legislation and compliance.
  • Clinical assessment and case management capability.
  • Health risk identification and control.
  • Audit readiness and documentation accuracy.
  • Training delivery and workforce capability building.
  • Emergency response preparedness.
  • Ability to collaborate successfully with our collaborators.

Nice To Haves

  • Registered Occupational Health Nurse with current professional council registration.
  • Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).

Responsibilities

  • Conduct occupational health risk assessments, including exposure‑based evaluations, site gap analyses, and self‑verification activities.
  • Implement statutory and corporate medical surveillance programmes (pre‑placement, periodic, and exit medicals).
  • Provide clinical case management within scope of practice, including triage, treatment, documentation, follow‑up, and referrals.
  • Implement and supervise controls for occupational health stressors such as noise, heat stress, ergonomics, fatigue, and chemical exposures.
  • Maintain audit and inspection readiness through accurate health records, compliance documentation, and corrective action tracking.
  • Deliver occupational health training and awareness programmes for employees and contractors.
  • Run drug and alcohol testing programmes, including chain‑of‑custody and incident‑related testing.
  • Support emergency medical response capability, including first aid team training and readiness.
  • Review industrial hygiene reports and provide feedback to relevant customers.
  • Work closely with Local and Global HSE&C teams, Site Managers, internal and customers, regulatory authorities, and subject matter experts.
