About The Position

Job Summary: The Occupational Health Case Manager is responsible for managing all onsite occupational injuries and illnesses, providing immediate first aid and clinical triage, coordinating medical care, and leading injury case management across two transformer manufacturing facilities. This role also owns and administers occupational health and medical surveillance programs to ensure OSHA compliance and proactive employee health management. The position partners closely with EHS, HR, and Operations to reduce injury severity, support timely return-to-work, and control workers’ compensation costs.

Requirements

  • Licensed healthcare professional with occupational health or injury management experience (e.g., RN, LVN/LPN, Occupational Therapist, or equivalent) OR demonstrated experience managing occupational injury case management in an industrial or manufacturing environment
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience in occupational health, injury case management, or industrial health services.
  • Working knowledge of workers’ compensation processes and OSHA occupational health requirements.
  • Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently in a manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of OSHA, EPA, DOT, and state/local regulations.
  • Strong observational and risk assessment skills.
  • Proficiency in incident investigation, documentation, and reporting.
  • Effective communicator, able to influence coach peers.
  • Data-driven mindset with ability to analyze safety performance metrics.
  • Time management and prioritization skills with a sense of urgency.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and EHS management software.

Nice To Haves

  • Registered Nurse (RN) or Licensed Vocational/Practical Nurse (LVN/LPN).
  • Occupational Therapist with experience in industrial or return-to-work programs.
  • Certified Occupational Health Nurse (COHN or COHN-S).
  • Experience supporting multi-site manufacturing operations.
  • Experience partnering directly with EHS and operations leadership teams.

Responsibilities

  • Provide immediate first aid, triage, and assessment for occupational injuries and illnesses.
  • Determine appropriate level of care (first aid vs. offsite medical evaluation).
  • Maintain an onsite presence to support early intervention and injury mitigation.
  • Maintain treatment logs and medical documentation in compliance with OSHA and HIPAA requirements.
  • Manage all occupational injury cases from initial report through closure.
  • Coordinate care with occupational health clinics, physicians, therapists, and claims adjusters.
  • Facilitate transitional duty and return-to-work programs in collaboration with EHS, HR, and operations leadership.
  • Monitor recovery progress and ensure work restrictions are communicated, understood, and followed.
  • Serve as the primary medical and case-management liaison with workers’ compensation carriers and third-party administrators.
  • Ensure timely injury reporting and documentation.
  • Support claim investigations with clinical insight to reduce escalation and duration.
  • Track injury trends, outcomes, and costs to support continuous improvement.
  • Administer and manage all occupational health surveillance requirements, including: Audiometric testing and hearing conservation program support Respirator medical evaluations and clearance Respirator fit testing coordination Pulmonary function testing (as applicable) Vision screening and job-related physical capability assessments
  • Maintain confidential medical surveillance records.
  • Coordinate with external providers when specialized testing is required.
  • Track compliance and follow-up on abnormal results in partnership with EHS.
  • Support OSHA recordkeeping accuracy (first aid vs. recordable determinations).
  • Maintain medical and injury records in accordance with OSHA, HIPAA, and company policies.
  • Support internal audits, regulatory inspections, and incident investigations.
  • Assist EHS with documentation and compliance related to occupational health standards.
  • Identify injury and illness trends and participate in root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Support ergonomic evaluations and musculoskeletal injury prevention initiatives.
  • Participate in safety stand-downs, training sessions, and targeted health awareness efforts.
  • Support wellness, heat stress, and fitness-for-duty programs as applicable.
  • Partner closely with the EHS Manager on injury reduction and health initiatives.
  • Collaborate with HR on employee accommodations, case communication, and return-to-work planning.
  • Provide guidance to supervisors on injury response expectations and employee care.
