About The Position

We are seeking a dedicated Occupational Health and Safety Specialist (Senior) to join The Boeing Company in the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) team within the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) division, located in Renton, WA the beautiful Pacific Northwest. This role is critical in ensuring the health and safety of our workforce while promoting environmental stewardship across the 737 operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing EHS programs that align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices, fostering a culture of safety and sustainability. By collaborating with cross-functional teams, the successful applicant will help drive initiatives that minimize environmental impact and enhance workplace safety, contributing to Boeing's commitment to a sustainable future in aviation.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience performing Occupational Safety and/or Industrial Hygiene duties in an industrial environment
  • 5+ years of experience working in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS)
  • 5+ years of experience performing health and safety risk assessments, developing and managing safety programs, and performing audits
  • Experience developing and implementing process improvements

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Experience with addressing occupational health and safety hazards related to aircraft flight and ground operations (Renton, Seattle, Everett, Tukwila and international sites)
  • Experience with BPS/LEAN
  • Experience with workplace safety and Industrial Hygiene
  • Experience with working with environmental team
  • Experience with hazardous energy control programs and aircraft systems

Responsibilities

  • Collect, analyze, and present inputs to enablers to improve Serious Injuries and exposures to Serious Injuries.
  • Develops, implements and supports occupational health and safety programs and processes
  • Lead rate readiness initiatives
  • Collaborate with peer team leads, cross functional team on implementation
  • Support stakeholder readiness, role definition, and adoption activities during deployment
  • Evaluates the impact of emerging issues, regulations and legislation to company operations
  • Develop and lead corrective action plans to respond to internal/external audits and inspections
  • Evaluate existing safety culture; design and implement strategies to strengthen it
