About The Position

CDF Labor Law is a growing, highly respected labor and employment law firm representing employers across California. Our Orange County office is the largest of the firm's five offices, and it continues to grow. We are looking for a motivated, capable associate with between 3-7 years of experience handling labor and employment matters for employers. This is a full-time position with excellent benefits, and a salary range from $150,000 to $215,000, depending on experience. Opportunity The attorney who fills this position will be responsible for working directly with a wide range of employer clients to provide advice and counsel on employment matters, drafting pleadings, drafting and arguing motions, handling discovery (e.g., preparing discovery, analyzing/preparing discovery responses, communicating with clients, interviewing witnesses and engaging in related motion practice), taking and defending depositions, attending mediations, engaging in settlement negotiations, and assisting with arbitrations and trials. The attorney will work closely with partners and senior attorneys to move matters forward and to meaningfully contributing to overall strategy from case inception to completion. This role is ideal for an attorney who does not wait to be told what to do, takes pride in delivering high-quality work, and understands that strong results come from follow-through, accountability, and professionalism.

Requirements

  • 3-7 years of labor and employment defense experience in California.
  • Successful candidates will be highly motivated, be detail-oriented, possess excellent writing, analytical, and people skills, value a team environment, and be prepared to take ownership of their work, operate independently, and contribute meaningfully to a fast-paced practice.
  • Juris Doctor.
  • Qualified candidates must be and remain licensed to practice law and be in good standing in the state of California.
  • Must have a California bar license.
  • During employment, must meet requirements for continuing licensure for law practice.
