JOB OVERVIEW • Job Title: Obstetrics/Gynecology Physician • Job Type: Locum Tenens • Location: Cottonwood, AZ • Service Setting: Inpatient/Outpatient • Coverage Type: Call Only • Coverage Period: Sep 18, 2026 – Ongoing • On-Call Shift Schedule: 24-hour beeper call | 7:00a – 7:00a COVERAGE DATES • Sep 18, 2026 – Sep 21, 2026 • Dec 24, 2026 – Dec 28, 2026 PATIENT INFORMATION • Patient Demographics: Obstetrics/Gynecology patients • Patient Volume/Census: 0 – 1 deliveries per shift • Admissions: Yes (as needed) • Case Mix: OB/GYN call coverage, labor and delivery support FACILITY INFORMATION • No. of Beds in Department: 99 • Trauma Level: Level IV • EMR System: Cerner • Office Equipment Available: Standard hospital equipment • Support Staff Available: Nurse Midwife coverage (physician provides backup as needed) • Reason for Coverage: Supplemental coverage PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE • Hospital Privileges Required: Yes • Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 30 days COMPENSATION & BENEFITS • Travel, Lodging, and Malpractice Insurance: Covered per facility guidelines REQUIRED PROCEDURES • OB/GYN call coverage • Labor and delivery management • Emergency obstetric care
Requirements
- Active AZ License (IMLC accepted)
- BC/BE in Obstetrics/Gynecology
- DEA: Required
- Minimum 1 year experience
- Must be comfortable providing backup coverage for Nurse Midwife
Responsibilities
- Provide 24-hour on-call OB/GYN coverage
- Manage labor and delivery cases as needed
- Respond to callbacks (approximately 0–2 per shift)
- Collaborate with nursing and midwife staff
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in Cerner
