About The Position

The University Of New Mexico College of Nursing (CON) is seeking a Program Specialist that is goal-oriented, resourceful, and self-motivated to provide support in the development and coordination of Objective Structured Clinical Examinations (OSCEs) for the Simulation Center. The curriculum content portion of OSCE’s will be completed by CON Faculty.
The Program Specialist will assist with administrative operations of the Health Sciences Albuquerque and Health Sciences Rio Rancho Simulation Centers to address the educational needs of the students across all programs. The Program Specialist will be responsible for assisting with the set up and facilitation of OSCEs. In addition, this role will be responsible for hiring standardized participants, connecting with faculty for scheduling, assist with case creation, and administrative duties.
Additional duties and responsibilities are:
Attend Education Management Solutions (EMS), the Simulation IQ manufacturer, out-of-state Summits; periodic local training and monthly webinars to stay informed on upgrades and education
Flexibility of hours and travel are required for Albuquerque and Health Science Rio Rancho Campus
Requires handling of manikins with an average-weight up to 50 pounds or standing and/or walking for more than four (4) hours per day due to simulations running
The selected applicant must maintain a primary residence in the Albuquerque area (including surrounding communities such as Rio Rancho, Los Lunas, Belen, Edgewood, and Santa Fe), and be able to reliably commute to the College of Nursing in Albuquerque

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• At least 6 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
• Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
