About The Position

Located in Templeton amongst the oak trees, Adventist Health Twin Cities has been serving northern San Luis Obispo County since 1977. Comprised of a 122-bed acute care facility, our team provides exceptional care in emergency medicine, orthopedics, obstetrics, digestive disorders, wound care, and various medical, surgical and outpatient services. Locals enjoy weekly farmers markets in downtown Templeton, farm-to-fork dining, beautiful landscapes for hiking and biking, and beach days just fifteen minutes away at Cambria and Morro Bay. Job Summary: Provides assistance in providing patient care during labor, delivery and recovery. Performs surgical scrub duties, maintains acceptable levels of supplies, and provides turnover of patient areas. Assists in the operating room with obstetrics related surgery. Assists with patient care before and after surgery. This position is represented by SEIU.

Requirements

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
  • Licenses/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) certification: Required
  • Department Specific License/Certifications: Certified Nurse Assistant (CNA): Required

Nice To Haves

  • Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
  • Surgical Technician or Obstetrical Technician certification: Preferred

Responsibilities

  • Assists in preparation of patient rooms.
  • Opens sterile supplies and sets up for procedure utilizing aseptic technique, and checking integrity of sterile packaging.
  • Assists the surgical team during operative procedures, providing needed supplies and instruments in a timely manner.
  • Participates in the timeout on each case.
  • Assist nursing staff in deliveries as directed by nurse: preparation, positioning, transports, transfer and discharge of patient.
  • Collects urinalysis (UA) specimens.
  • Takes and records maternal vital signs, weight, height and intake & output (I&O) measurements.
  • Performs personal care services and assists with activities of daily living for patients in providing general care.
  • Prepares, positions, transports, transfers and discharges patient.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
