The Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) & Coding Specialist/Liaison is responsible for acting as a bridge between each branch/agency and the outsource company performing diagnosis coding and OASIS review. This position will ensure timely completion of all coding/OASIS review workflow and specifically assisting with those episodes requiring queries and clarifications.
Requirements
- Education: Graduate of an associate's degree or diploma program in Nursing or similar healthcare field required.
- Experience: 2 years as a coder, OASIS review and quality assurance in Home Health required.
- Licensure, Certification, Registration: Current coding certification required. Current OASIS certification required.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for assisting agency/branch personnel with locating appropriate documentation as needed for coding queries.
- Assists agency/branch personnel with answering questions from outsource coding company pertaining to diagnosis coding and OASIS review. This may require analyzing documentation found both in HCHB and in Epic for the most appropriate solutions to said questions.
- Assists in ensuring timely completion of duties as found in the Coding Specialist workflow, by assisting with queries and issues daily.
- Monitors Teams channels for requests to expedite coding and communicates these to the outsource coding team in a timely manner.
- Assists local leadership in developing, implementing, maintaining, and analyzing the effectiveness of methods and models to assist with accurate diagnosis coding and OASIS review.
- Perform other related duties as required
