In a fast paced atmosphere, the NSA must provide excellent customer service to all program participants, and also perform lab duties as required. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The essential functions of this position consist of the ability to communicate with advanced spelling, grammar skills, read and comprehend what is read, and possess advanced expressive and receptive language skills. In fulfilling this job, one must possess enough physical mobility to perform general office and administrative work, with or without reasonable accommodations. SPECIFIC DUTIES: Clerical Duties: 1. Provide excellent customer service via telephone or face-to-face interaction. 2. Schedule participant appointment procedures according to established guidelines. 3. Issue food benefits to participants and conduct EBT card replacements. 4. Open the office in the morning/ close in the evening. This includes: • Unlocking necessary cabinets and doors/locking necessary cabinets and doors • Turning on/ off the office equipment • Perform necessary set-up procedures in the lab. 5. Greet participants cheerfully and with full attention. 6. Support staff by answering calls and taking messages. Significant calls from clients need to be documented in MIS system and reference in chart progress notes. 7. Always maintain strict confidentiality procedures according to WIC Policy. 8. Maintain filing of participant charts. 9. Prepare client charts for the clinics in advance. 10. Ensure that in-person client flow is handled efficiently. 11. Thorough knowledge of WIC eligibility requirements. 12. Ensure that the necessary paperwork is prepared for new clients. 13. Respond positively to supervisor's request for assistance in other areas of office procedures. 14. Ensure that all agency materials such as charts and packets are available as needed. 15. Perform duties at satellite clinics when scheduled; including preparation of charts prior to travel. 16. Synchronize laptops as per schedule. 17. Reconcile formula cabinet monthly. 18. Inventory and order office supplies as needed with supervisor's approval. Lab Duties: 1. Perform anthropometric measurements and hematological testing after receiving the required training. 2. Adhere to procedures in Policy and Procedures 2.04. Hematological Test Requirements, 2.16., Anthropometric Measurements and 2.17., Blood Test Safety Precautions. 3. Conduct quality control procedures for testing materials and Hemocue System. 4. Maintain a safe and orderly lab area. This requires set-up and close blood work and anthropometric area using proper universal precautions, report any problems to the Director.
