About The Position

The Nutrition Aide plays an important role in supporting patient care by preparing and delivering meal trays, nourishments, and tube feedings to nursing units. This position helps ensure smooth and timely meal service by assisting with tray preparation and service activities. Additional responsibilities include assisting with dishwashing, cleaning equipment and carts, and performing light janitorial duties to help maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment. Requirements

  • Previous experience in institutional food service with modified diets desirable.
  • Ability to understand oral and written instructions.
  • Must speak, read, and understand English to work tray line.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble and deliver patient meal trays, including regular and modified diets.
  • Follow color-coded menus and diet guidelines to ensure safe, accurate meals.
  • Work as part of a team on the tray line to keep meal service running smoothly.
  • Prepare and deliver nourishments and tube feedings according to standard procedures.
  • Assemble and deliver late trays as needed.
  • Stock, organize, and restock food and supplies throughout meal service.
  • Assist with dish room duties, sanitation, and general kitchen support.
  • Help in other areas of the department as needed (cafeteria, salads, pots & pans).
  • Communicate food service concerns with kitchen leads, dietitians, and management.
