We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Registered Nurse to take on a Supervisor role within our Skilled Nursing Facility. Position Details : Registered Nurse Supervisor (RN) – Skilled Nursing Unit Schedule: Full Time; Days Supportive environment where residents and staff are valued The Supervisor Skilled Nursing helps oversee and manage the delivery of nursing services in the skilled nursing and assisted living units, including direct supervision of the nursing assistant staff. The Supervisor Skilled Nursing also serves as a facility wide education and infection control resource.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the Director of Nursing in organizing and directing the day-to-day functions of the Skilled Nursing and Assisted Living units.
  • Serves as interim Director of Nursing in the absence of the Director.
  • Conducts nursing rounds and provides direct nursing support to residents.
  • Performs administrative duties such as completing reports, medical forms, charting, etc.
  • Provides direct supervision to Certified Nursing Assistants, Restorative Aids, Certified Medication Technicians, and Level 1 Medication Aides.
  • Assists with the selection of new staff by completing job requisitions, reviewing applications and interviewing candidates.
  • Arranges employee orientation for new staff and ensures they are properly trained.
  • Monitors employee performance and competencies.
  • Conducts staff perform evaluations and provides feedback to direct reports.
  • Ensures that that are properly scheduled to work their standard work week and ensure staffing levels meet stated objectives.
  • Provides education leadership and evaluation for skilled areas, including non-nursing staff that support those areas.
  • Educates technical and patient care staff on the application of policies, procedures, and legal requirements and how they apply in the clinical setting.
  • Trains and evaluates staff on technical competencies and demonstrations in the use of new equipment, supplies, and instruments.
  • Responsible for online learning program through Relias Learning. Determines annual content for compliance and assigns courses.
  • Helps prepare staff for state survey.
  • Runs reports and communicates with staff to ensure compliance with training requirements.
  • Works within skilled units to identify, investigate, monitor, and report healthcare –associated infections.
  • Collaborates with management and staff to create infection prevention strategies, provide feedback, and sustain infection prevention targets.
  • Collects data for risk management and quality purposes. Reports with SLHS infection prevention team to report healthcare-associated infections or an outbreak to local and state health departments.
  • Assists with the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
  • Serves as community infection preventionist.
