The starting base rate of pay for the Nursing Station Technician is $23.40 Candidates with experience may be brought in at a higher rate of pay. This position will 60 hours per pay period on the Evening Shift, 12 hour variable shifts, every third weekend. About this unit: This is a 24 bed ortho unit with patients experiencing a range of conditions, including but not limited to: Sepsis Overdoses/Withdrawals Surgical procedures Telemetry Diabetes Pneumonia Altered mental status (AMS) About this Role: The NST is a hybrid position consisting of both Nursing Assistant and Health Unit Coordinator roles to deliver direct patient care and administrative duties. In this role, you will work under the direct supervision of a nurse to demonstrate excellent customer service, collaboration and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team on a fasted paced unit. The NST will work under the direct supervision of a professional nurse to demonstrate excellent customer service, teamwork and communication skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team on a fasted paced unit. Other job duties include: Assists the professional caregiver in the delivery of patient care such as personal hygiene, vitals, daily activities, repositioning, transporting, and feeding Transporting patient and/or equipment 1:1 sitting with patients Setting up and maintaining patient rooms Reordering, and stocking supplies Answering phones, processing admissions, discharging and transferring forms, transcribing orders, assembling patient charts and ordering tests
