The Simulation Technician (Sim Tech) is a hands-on, team-oriented support position that assists simulation faculty with the daily setup, operation, and breakdown of simulation and skills lab activities in the nursing program. The Sim Tech is responsible for the setup, operation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of all simulation equipment and audiovisual/information technology (AV/IT) systems, including manikins, task trainers, computers, monitors, cameras, microphones, and related equipment. The Sim Tech ensures that all rooms, equipment, and supplies are fully prepared and functional at least 15 minutes before each scheduled simulation, remains present during sessions to support faculty and address technical issues, and completes post-simulation breakdown, cleaning, restocking, and resetting of rooms and equipment. The Sim Tech provides flexible support in both the simulation lab and skills lab, demonstrating teamwork and adaptability to meet daily program needs, and may serve as a simulated participant (SP) when needed. When simulations are not in progress, the Sim Tech assists with administrative tasks, clerical support, inventory management, supply organization, and general program support as assigned.
