About The Position

JOB SUMMARY: Under the direction of the Director of Nursing, this position will provide support and assistance with a variety of duties for the day-to-day operations of the nursing department. This is a Full Time, Monday - Friday position working 8am - 4pm.

  • Possess a current WI CNA license.

Responsibilities

  • Identifies with, shares in, and displays a commitment to the mission, philosophy and overall strategies of Norseland Nursing Home in concurrent with the Bethany St. Joseph Corporation.
  • Maintain a professional office atmosphere to ensure responsive, courteous, confidential, and helpful interaction with staff and public.
  • Maintain a variety of office procedures and systems for filing hard copy and electronic paperwork.
  • Performs general clerical duties including, but not limited to, word processing, recordkeeping, and copying, collating, and compiling data.
  • Communicate effectively with co-workers, nursing management, and administration to maintain a cooperative work environment.
  • Provide residents with the care and services needed per care plan.
  • Schedule the nursing staff under the direction of the DON on a bi-weekly rotation. Replace absent staff as needed.
  • Maintain an inventory of nursing and office supplies, order, and stock as needed.
  • Keep track of the durable medical equipment in the facility.
  • Update care cards as needed.
  • Ensure medical storage areas are kept clean and organized.
  • Provide transportation to resident appointments as needed.
  • Attend stand up daily.
  • Update the nursing department staff hours posting daily and as changes occur.
  • Perform CNA duties per the CNA job description as needed.
  • Greet and direct visitors as they enter and exit the facility presenting the foremost impression of the facility.
  • Be a presence to provide a warm greeting to all people entering and leaving the facility ensuring that Customer Service is the focal point.
  • Assist each person who approaches the desk with a query pleasantly and timely.
  • Answer and direct incoming phone calls.
  • Take and relay written messages as appropriate.
  • Provide accurate information to callers.
  • Provide administrative support to management by performing various clerical duties and responsibilities including, but not limited to organizing, receiving, and processing information.
  • Maintain databases, operating office equipment, and office space.
  • Set up and maintain filing systems, establish work procedures, and collate information in a systematic order.
  • Maintain a safe and suitable environment for residents, staff, and visitors. Maintain equipment and supplies in a safe and clean condition. Support and abide by all safety practices set forth by Norseland Nursing Home and BSJ Corporation including, but on limited to, to using proper body mechanics, minimizing trips and falls, good housekeeping, and reporting hazardous working conditions.
  • Maintain regular communication with the DON and Administrator.
  • Perform other tasks as directed by the DON and Administrator.
  • Attend mandatory in-services and educational program required.
