Requirements
- Experience as a scheduler in a Healthcare or Long-Term Care setting is extremely valued
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- Strong organizational, administrative and time-management skills
- Ability to handle dynamic scheduling needs and adapt to last-minute changes
- Ability to work and communicate effectively in a fast-paced, multidiscilinary team environment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Patience and the ability to relate tactfully and professionally with all staff
- Ability to make independent decisions when circumstances warrant and to remain calm during emergency situations
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
Responsibilities
- Ensure the facility is optimally staffed 7 days per week - 24 hours per day
- Develop and maintain nursing staff schedules considering workload, qualifications, regulation compliance and staff preferences
- Collaborate with the nursing leaders to optimize staffing make up and budget impact including full-time, part-time and per diem resources
- Handle scheduling conflicts, last-minute adjustments, and replacements as needed
- Maintain accurate records of staff attendance, PTO, vacations, and schedule changes
- Communicate effectively with nursing staff regarding schedules and changes
- Manage overtime and agency expense to acheive overall budget targets
