Job Summary: Functioning within the context of the framework for professional nursing practice, the Nurse Educator, in consultation and collaboration with nursing leadership and the Health Care Team, facilitates training, education and development by assessing, planning, developing, implementation, coordination and evaluation of projects and programs for staff, faculty, patient populations and the community. This is accomplished to ensure role competence, compliance with regulatory standards, and to meet organizational goals in the Medicine Department. This educator role specializes in Diabetes Education. Within this role candidates will educate complex diabetic patients across the continuum of care, coordinating and reviewing care plans with the bedside RNs. They will also be educating clinical teams on best practice standards.

Requirements

  • MSN
  • 3 years active clinical and 1 year of acute care experience
  • CDES Certification required within 18 months of hire
  • BLS required
  • Current CT RN license
