About The Position

Join IU Ball Memorial Hospital’s Women’s and Children’s Service Line as a full-time Nursing Professional Development Practitioner (NPD)! In this full-time role you will take on a multifaceted position as a Learning Facilitator, Change Agent, Mentor, Leader, Champion for Inquiry, and Advocate for the NPD Specialty. Your responsibilities will include: Promoting and advocating for innovative professional development programs and curricula tailored to the unique needs of our women’s and children’s health units, including Labor and Delivery, Mother Baby, NICU, and Pediatrics—from onboarding new staff to supporting ongoing clinical expertise. Modeling the application of evidence-based practices specific to women’s and children’s health, demonstrating a strong commitment to the scholarship of teaching and learning. Providing strategic direction and support to meet educational needs identified through assessments, regulatory standards, and quality outcomes data within the women’s and children’s service line. Serving as a role model and expert for clinical educators, championing their ongoing growth and professional development within these specialized areas. Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree of Nursing (BSN) required.
  • Requires an active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Indiana or an active Nurse Licensure Compact (NLC) RN license.
  • Requires Basic Life Support certification through the AHA.
  • Other advanced life support certifications may be required per unit/department/specialty according to patient care policies.
  • Requires that the RN has graduated from a nationally accredited nursing program.
  • Two years experience preferred.
  • Must have the ability and willingness to travel as needed to meet the system educational needs.
  • Must have the ability to display knowledge and utilization of principles of adult learning.

Nice To Haves

  • Masters Degree of Nursing (MSN) or current enrollment in MSN program preferred.
  • Experience in Labor and Delivery, Mother Baby, NICU, and/or Pediatrics strongly preferred.
